Research Information:

This is one of a group of tracings at BMAG illustrating and related to the story of 'Pygmalion and the Image' as retold in William Morris's poem 'The Earthly Paradise'. This is another early conception of the design as in 1927P623. The two figures are shown running towards each other, Pygmalion with his arms outstretched.
