Research Information:

This is one of several studies by Burne-Jones for the series of seven paintings depicting 'The Story of St George', made for Myles Birket Foster at his home in Witley, Surrey. It is a very detailed study for the cloak which blows above and behind St George, in the fifth panel in the series, 'St. George Slaying the Dragon'.
